This Saturday’s event aimed to support women suffering political persecution by the Chinese government. Attendees included Tonyee Chow Hang-tung(鄒幸彤), former vice chairman of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of the Chinese Patriotic Democratic Movement and a lawyer; Xu Na(許那), a Falun Gong practitioner; and Gulshan Abbas(古麗仙), a Uyghur doctor.

Members of the Chinese women’s rights organization responsible for organizing this event, including Zhou Mei, Jiang Dingcheng, Wang Li, Zhang Yan, Qiu Yueyun, and Li Yun, gave up their weekend rest time to come to the Flushing Library to continue supporting their sisters in prison and raising public awareness of the human rights situation in China.

We firmly believe that even if our voices are weak, our persistent efforts will eventually be heard by our persecuted sisters. They will bravely step out of the darkness.
